A carbon steel, composite metal cored electrode for gas shielded arc welding.

Application

This electrode is for single and multiple-pass welding of carbon and certain low alloy steels, where a minimum tensile strength of 70,000 psi is required in the weld metal.

Feature

  • Higher manganese and silicon contents provide more deoxidation and a flatter bead geometry.
  • Increased productivity, better sidewall fusion than ER70S-6 solid wire.
  • Excellent for short circuit welding.
  • Formulated to weld flat and horizontal
  • This wire can be used on machinery, shipbuilding, offshore structures, bridges and general fabrications.
  • It is designed for the welding of 490MPa high tensile steel with only Ar/CO2 gas mixtures. It is especially suitable for welding and has a high tolerance to primer.
  • This wire is a metal type of flux cored wire for all position welding.
  • Slag quality is almost the same as solid wire and multiple pass welding can be performed without removing slag.
  • 20% higher productivity can be achieved when compared to solid wires and it features good penetration, high resistance to porosity, good wetting behavior as well as low hydrogen contents.
  • It is intended for semi-automatic, single and multiple pass welding.
